Each rental is good for 24 hours — return the basket by close of business (4 p.m.) the next day.
How it works
Book ahead
Drop us a line to reserve a basket for the day you'd like — or simply walk in. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.
Pick it up
Come by Happy Go Picnic at 415 Laurel Street. Bring your own picnic fare, or fill your basket with sandwiches, salads and little treats from the shop.
Picnic in the park
Stroll 1.5 blocks to Balboa Park. Find a bench, a patch of grass, a shady spot under the trees. The basket is yours for 24 hours.
Return by close
Bring the basket back by close of business (4 p.m.) the next day. That's it — no fuss, no paperwork beyond a friendly hello.

Fill it however you like
Bring your own picnic goods from home, or let us do the packing — sandwiches, salads, charcuterie, something sparkling. Walk in, pick what looks good, and we'll tuck it into the basket for you.

Booking ahead is encouraged, especially on weekends and holidays — it guarantees a basket is waiting for you. Walk-ins are always welcome, subject to availability.

No payment, no worry
You don't pay until you pick up your basket, so there's nothing to refund. We just ask that you let us know as early as you can if your plans change, so we can offer the basket to someone else.
Baskets are due back by close of business (4 p.m.) the next day. Late returns may incur a fee.
